20+ Easter Events in the Sacramento Area 2019

Easter is almost here! Each year, we look forward to the many egg hunts, Easter Bunny photo opportunities, pancake breakfasts, and more springtime activities leading up to Easter weekend.

There is certainly no shortage of Easter events in the Sacramento area this year! In fact, we’ve collected over 20 events to look forward to, most of which involve an egg hunt and an Easter Bunny sighting. Dust off your pastel clothing, grab your baskets, and hop on over to these Easter events in Sacramento and surrounding communities.

 

Easter Bunny Pictures at McConnell Estates

March 30 | 12–4 p.m.

Get the Easter celebration started early with a visit to McConnell Estates in Elk Grove on March 30. Kids can visit with the Easter Bunny and adults can sip on wine at this special event for all ages. This is the perfect opportunity to take priceless photos with the Easter Bunny and stock up on holiday wine! Members get the first pick of tickets, available a week before they are open to the general public. Wine club members may purchase up to four tickets total for $5 each and give them to friends. General public tickets will be released for $15 each if they do not sell out to members first! Both members and non-members enjoy $5 off a bottle of wine at the event.

 

Wag Hotels’ 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs

April 6 | 12–1:30 p.m.

River Walk Park, West Sacramento

Make sure your furry friend is part of the festivities this year! Wag Hotels’ 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs benefits Pits R Us All Breed Rescue. Enjoy finger foods and local vendors while your dog sniffs out eggs filled with tasty treats and valuable prizes and even poses for a photo with the Easter Bunny. Dogs and children under 12 may enter for free! Check in between 12 and 12:30 p.m. at River Walk Park in West Sacramento, embark on the egg hunt adventure at 1, and participate in the raffle at 1:30.

 

Easter Egg Express

April 6–7, 13–14, 17 + 20 | Varying Times

Sacramento RiverTrain, West Sacramento

“Hop” on board the Sacramento River Train on the weekends leading up to Easter (and a couple of weekdays!) for a special springtime experience, complete with an egg hunt, a ride on the rails, kid-friendly activities, and a visit from the Easter Bunny himself. This 2.5-hour journey is offered the first three weekends of April and is a fun and unforgettable adventure for both kids and kids at heart.

 

Spring Fling at Palladio

April 7 | 1–5 p.m.

Piazza at Palladio, Folsom

Palladio at Broadstone is hosting their free, family-friendly Spring Fling, featuring fun activities for kids of all ages, including a visit with the Easter Bunny! Stop by this Folsom shopping center for an afternoon of springtime fun.

 

Easter Eggstravaganza

April 12–14 | Varying Times

Funderland Park is throwing the ultimate three-day Easter celebration on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Easter weekend. Their annual Easter Eggstravaganza features egg hunts, visits from the Easter Bunny, free arts and crafts, vendors, rides, and much more. Egg hunts are limited to groups of 30 children at a time, and Funderland holds hunts every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour, so everyone gets a chance to hunt for eggs! Take a look at the schedule to see what time your child’s egg hunt is starting.

 

Bunny Breakfast & Eggs Galore

April 13 | 8:30–10 a.m.

Pat O’Brien Community Center, Sacramento

Make your way to the Pat O’Brien Community Center in Southeast Sacramento for a morning of activities, an egg hunt, and a special breakfast with the Easter Bunny. The breakfast includes eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, milk, juice, and coffee.

 

Easter Eggstravaganza

April 13 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m.

El Dorado Hills Town Center, El Dorado Hills

Hop on over to the Steven Young Amphitheater at the El Dorado Hills Town Center to hunt for eggs filled with candy and free gift coupons. There will be five egg zones for various ages (ages 0-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7 and 8-12). After the egg hunt, children may visit participating businesses to collect free gifts! There will even be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny, a magic show, music, face painting, balloon artists, and a raffle for a giant Easter gift.

 

Underwater Egg Hunt

April 13 | 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Pat O’Brien Community Center, Sacramento

Search far and wide for eggs — including inside the swimming pool at the Pat O’Brien Community Center! The Underwater Egg Hunt is a unique Easter activity for kids ages 12 and under to collect eggs in the pool, searching for a Golden Egg, which can be exchanged for a special prize. Participants are encouraged to bring a basket or mesh bag to the event. There will also be an open swim time for participants before and after the hunt!

 

Breakfast With the Bunny

April 17 | 9–10:30 a.m.

Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse, Fair Oaks

On the Wednesday morning before Easter, head to the Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse for a special Breakfast With the Bunny, featuring a continental breakfast, crafts and a photo opportunity. Bring your own camera and purchase tickets in advance as seating is limited! Tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 for children 11 years and under. Use coupon code BUNNY for an additional $2 off tickets purchased before March 31.

 

Carmichael Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast

April 20 | 7–11 a.m.

Carmichael Park, Carmichael

Enjoy a special pancake breakfast from 7–11 a.m. at Carmichael Park, plus a special egg hunt starting at 10 a.m. sharp. The egg hunt will be held rain or shine and children are divided by age groups (ages 2 and under, 3–4 years, 5–6 years, and 7–8 years). The Carmichael Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and under.

 

25th Annual Spring Eggstravaganza

April 20 | 8–11 a.m.

Lembi Park, Folsom

Head to Lembi Park in Folsom for this fun annual Easter event, which includes a pancake breakfast, free kiddie carnival games, entertainment, vendor displays and activities, and a huge egg hunt featuring more than 25,000 eggs filled with candy and prize slips. The egg hunt takes place on four sports fields divided by age group, and there’s even a special egg hunt available for parents and grandparents! Vendor displays and activities begin at 8 a.m. and the egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. sharp. Bring your own basket to participate.

 

Breakfast With the Bunny

April 20 | 8, 8:45 + 9:30 a.m. (Seating Times)

Elk Grove Park Pavilion, Elk Grove

Don’t miss Breakfast With the Bunny at Elk Grove Regional Park hosted by the Pride of Laguna Creek Lions Club. Visit with the holiday’s biggest celebrity while you enjoy a delicious breakfast. Pre-registration is encouraged as seating is limited. Tickets cost $5 per person in advance and $7 at the door, and children 2 years and under are $1. Register for the 8–8:45, 8:45–9:30 or 9:30–10:15 breakfast times.

 

Easter Egg-Stravaganza

April 20 | 8:30–10 a.m.

Arden Park Recreation and Park District, Sacramento

Enjoy some good old fashioned family fun in the park at Arden Park’s annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza. Start with a hearty breakfast, featuring pancakes, ham, fruit, pastries, coffee and juice. Then move onto carnival games and participate in egg hunts at 10:15 a.m., divided into age groups at individual times. Breakfast costs $5 per person and the egg hunt and carnival games cost $3 per person.

 

Hoppin’ & Huntin’ at Hagan

April 20 | 8:30 a.m.

Hagan Community Park, Rancho Cordova

Bounce over to the free annual Easter egg hunt and community celebration at Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova. Enjoy an egg hunt (with three time slots for specific age groups for children 10 and under), photos with the Easter Bunny, games, music, face painting, prizes, and more. The Kiwanis Club will also host a fundraiser pancake breakfast that is $5 for adults 18 and over and free for anyone 17 and under.

 

Easter Egg Hunt

April 20 | 9–10:30 a.m.

EDH Community Park, El Dorado Hills

The Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance at El Dorado Hills Community Park the day before Easter! Activities include arts and crafts, visits with the Easter Bunny, and an egg hunt at 10 a.m. Bring your own baskets and cameras!

 

Easter Eggstravaganza

April 20 | 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Fair Oaks Park, Fair Oaks

You won’t want to miss the Fair Oaks Easter Eggstravaganza — no matter your age. Free activities include the children’s egg hunts, pictures with the bunny, a craft table, and a petting zoo. Visitors ages 16 and up may participate in the $3 adult egg hunt, where you can win gift cards and more. A $10 wristband grants access to unlimited carnival games and inflatables, one train ride, and one face painting. There are also 50-cent tickets available for purchase. Hop on over to the pancake breakfast presented by the Fair Oaks Host Lion’s Club. Enjoy pancakes, eggs, orange juice or coffee for $5 per adult or $3 per child. Plus, the Lion’s Club is serving a special hot dog lunch, which includes a hot dog, chips and a drink for just $5.

 

Cameron Park Easter Egg Hunt

April 20 | 10–11:45 a.m.

This 37-year community tradition is a must-do for Cameron Park residents. Head to Rasmussen Park to see the Easter Bunny arrive at 10 a.m. and begin hunting for eggs at 10:20. Individual age groups for the egg hunt are ages 0-3, 4-5, 6-7, and 8-10. After the hunt, the Easter Bunnies will be available for photos.

 

Spring Fling and Community Egg Hunt

April 20 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m.

Freedom Park, North Highlands

The North Highlands Recreation & Park District is hosting one of the area’s largest community egg hunts at Freedom Park. The hunt is designed for children 12 and under, who will be divided into age groups. Before the hunt, enjoy entertainment, carnival games, bounce houses, train rides, and more.

 

Kids’ Easter Egg Hunt

April 20 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m.

Sunrise Community Church, Fair Oaks

Head to Sunrise Community Church’s annual Easter celebration, featuring fun activities such as bounce houses, crafts, face painting, food for purchase, and of course, egg hunts for kids up to 5th grade! This is a completely free event open to the public.

 

EGGstravaganZOO

April 20 | 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Sacramento Zoo, Sacramento

The Sacramento Zoo has plenty in store on Easter weekend with their special EGGstravaganZOO event — including age-specific egg hunts, colorful crafts, animal enrichments, and goody bags. Search the zoo grounds for emerald green emu eggs, watch an exciting stage show, and visit a keeper chat to learn about the roles eggs play in the animal world. All of this is included with general zoo admission!

 

Fairytale Town Spring Eggstravaganza

April 20 | 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Don’t miss Fairytale Town’s Spring Eggstravaganza — a full weekend of activities, including egg hunts, prizes, spring-themed arts and crafts, and more. Egg hunt times and areas are separated by age groups. Puppet Art Theater Company will be on site performing a special Bunny Boot Camp in the Children’s Theater. Tickets for the show are $1 for members and $2 for non-members. Plus, enjoy a visit with Peter Cottontail on the Mother Goose Stage from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.! Tickets for the Fairytale Town Spring Eggstravaganza are $7 for both kids and adults in advance or $10 for both kids and adults the day of. Children ages 1 and under and Fairytale Town members can get in for free!

 

Aqua Egg Hunt

April 20 | 2–4 p.m.

EDH Community Pool, El Dorado Hills

Return to the El Dorado Hills Community Park pool for a unique egg hunt in the water! A basket will be provided for children to join in an aquatics egg hunt with plastic eggs floating on top and scattered along the bottom of the pool. Eggs can be exchanged for goodies after the hunt! The gates open at 2 and the egg hunt starts promptly at 2:30 p.m.

 

Easter Brunch at the Hyatt

April 21 | 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Hyatt Regency, Sacramento

Sit down for a special brunch on Easter Sunday at the Hyatt Regency in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Chef Michael Grande and his culinary team will create holiday favorites, presented in a buffet with an iced seafood display, artisan salumi and cheeses, a breakfast station, a carving station, holiday entrees, assorted sweets, and much more. Plus, champagne is included! The buffet is $69.95 for adults, $34.95 for children ages 5–12, and free for kids 4 and under.

 

Easter River Cruises

April 21 | Varying Times

Hornblower Cruises & Events, Sacramento

Take in views of the city from a fresh perspective aboard a Hornblower River Cruise traveling along the Sacramento River. The one-hour Sacramento Easter River Cruise will feature a special visit from the Easter Bunny, live narration about Sacramento River facts and history, concessions available for purchase, and of course, scenic city views. Purchase your tickets in advance to ensure a spot on the cruise, and be sure to arrive 15 minutes early for departure!
