College Greens is an established neighborhood with smaller, charming homes rich with lush trees and landscaping. It is quiet yet bubbling with family activities and neighborhood gatherings.
The College Greens Swim and Racquet Club acts as somewhat of an epicenter of this gem of a neighborhood. Whether you’re a member or not, it embodies everything the neighborhood is – a throwback to the ‘50s or ‘60s when community was an intrinsic part of life. Coined the “Cabana Club,” it even looks like it was pulled right from the golden era of simplicity. Activities and events include a swim team and meets, free swim lessons, tennis clinics, volleyball and basketball courts, Flick’-n-Float Movie Nights, poker nights, and pins & needles craft evenings.
Non-club members can still bask in and benefit from the convivial community. Oki Park is in the heart of College Greens and has swimming and wading pools, play areas, basketball court, and soccer fields. There’s also Jefferson School Park, and the nearby Granite Park, and Glenbrook Park.
The neighborhood retains its family feel and atmosphere with winding roads adorned in magnolia, elm, oak, eucalyptus, and pine trees. Cul-de-sacs and sporadic speed bumps keep the pace of life slow and enjoyable. If this wasn’t enough, the area has an easy commute to downtown, as well as easy access to all the major highways and the American River Parkway.
