The Vineyard community is a community of entertainment and fun. It is bordered by many main roads in Elk Grove, and located right off of Highway 99. Vineyard earned its name due to the large vineyards in the area which have supplied grapes to many Napa Valley wineries. Vineyard is also known for its custom homes and larger parcels. This former rural agricultural area has been transformed with new home communities as well as custom homes. However, many of the agricultural areas remain intact.
Vineyard is part of the highly-rated Elk Grove School District and has many public and private schools available. There are plenty of places for shopping, dining, and entertainment nearby as well as numerous houses of faith. The Consumnes Community College is nearby as well. Wild Hawk Golf Course offers a well-known golf and dining experience. Featuring 18 holes and two beautiful lakes plus a Clubhouse located at Vineyard and Gerber Roads. The Vineyard community is a fast growing suburb of Greater Sacramento, doubling its populace in one decade (Census 2010). It is also one of the most racially diverse areas in our community.
Several parks and community centers in Vineyard offer recreation and swimming pool programs including Churchill Downs Community Park, Calvine Crossing Park and Caymus Park. The area is perfect for family outings as it offers playgrounds, picnic tables, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, and sandy volleyball courts. Vineyard is part of a developing recreational pedestrian/bike trail system that will connect Sacramento to Elk Grove.
